Parenting Workshop, October 5
Uplift parenting workshops are a chance to explore expansive spirituality and timeless values in a group of other supportive parents. It’s an opportunity to refresh your approach to parenting, meet new people, focus on specific problem areas, and breathe new life into your day-to-day experience as a parent.
Facilitated by:
- Amanda Suarez, school psychologist and certified conscious parenting coach
- Michelle Larson, marriage and family therapist associate
- Jon Ogden, curriculum creator and mindfulness facilitator
In addition to their professional experience, Amanda, Michelle, and Jon have collectively participated in 30+ mindfulness retreats and have rich experience leading small groups and individuals in transformative work on their own and together.
Join us on Sunday, October 5th in Utah County for a workshop on how to weave expansive spirituality and timeless values into your home. (Normally we’d try to avoid to hosting Sunday morning events, but our team is gathering in Utah County on October, 4th for our family day camp and only have this brief window of time before the team has to fly home on Sunday evening.)
What Past Participants Have Said
- “This workshop was more than just tips and tricks—it actually helped me put on the mind, heart, and body of a better parent. The sense of camaraderie I have with other like-minded parents has been incredibly supportive in my journey.” — Paul
- “It was an incredible experience, helping me improve myself and focus my intentions toward meaningful connection with my children. I already see the change in how I interact with them and have seen that change reflected back in how they respond to me.” — Jeremy
- “After coming home I’ve been more present with myself and my children, which has allowed me to access a deeper inner wisdom to show up as the parent I want to be. I also feel so uplifted by the support of the other parents I met who continue to show up and try again when perfect solutions don’t exist.” — Natalie
We’ll explore difficult questions such as:
- How can I follow my inner compass as a parent to support my kids in their spiritual, emotional, and social development?
- How can I live into what’s most appropriate when my kids are tired and acting out? How can I support them through tantrums?
- How do I best help my kids learn to regulate big emotions (and do the same myself)? What works? What doesn’t work?
- How can I find a community of parents who can support me through personal transformation in parenting?
To do this we offer a mix of:
- Instruction based on professional experience, academic research, and mindfulness training
- Small and large group discussion
- Simple role playing (to work through specific scenarios)
- Stillness and simple meditation
- Journaling
- Q & A
This workshop is for:
- Parents who are interested in expansive spirituality, whether you practice inside or outside of religion
- Parents with any range of kids (littles, kids, teens, college-age)
- Parents in a variety of marital situations (married, mixed-faith, divorced, single etc.)
- Parents seeking to be intentional and mindful about parenting
It’s a perfect way to develop skills you’ll be practicing for decades (whether your kids are newborn or all grown up).
