Uplift Family Day Camp
We’ve enjoyed three wonderful years at family camp in Scholls Valley, Oregon (pictured above), and we’re looking forward to next year’s mix of games, activities, lessons, discussions, and transformative, heartfelt experiences at Scholls!
Because we’ve had so many families from Utah express interest in camp, we’re offering a day camp in the area this fall. It will feature several of our most-loved activities, lessons, and discussions for each age group — grownups, teens, kids, and littles.
It’s going to be a delightful, moving, and memorable time — something your kids can look back on for the rest of their lives, especially if they make friends with other people their age, as is usually the case at camp. We hope you’ll join us!
We’ve worked to keep the family day camp as inexpensive as possible, at a price point that’s equivalent to going out for dinner and a movie (but hopefully even more transformative).
Day camp starts at 1:30pm, so families can do morning sports and get chores done and then head up to camp, where the fall colors should be on full display!

Questions and Answers
Who will lead the day camp?
The Uplift team consists of Amanda Suarez (school psychologist), Michelle Larson (marriage and family therapist associate), Elizabeth Seeley (camp director, graduate in social work), James Ure (who has led teen camps for more than a decade) and Jon Ogden (who regularly facilitates grownups in mindfulness and transformative discussions). See more details about the team.
Who is this day camp for?
Uplift Kids is for anyone looking to explore expansive spirituality regardless of whether they participate in traditional religion. We’re a place for mixed-faith families, unorthodox families, and families who feel unmoored from traditional approaches. If you feel like your family doesn’t quite fit the standard mold but you still long for spirituality and deep connection, we hope you feel right at home at Uplift.
What food will be available?
We’ll offer a catered dinner, along with snacks and water throughout the experience. We’ll also do s’mores around a campfire at night to end the evening!
What activities will we do?
We’ll offer a series of games for a variety of ages, including minute-to-win-it games, basic improv games, and physical games. These games will keep things flowing and fun so we can intersperse the games with heartfelt exploration and discussion.
What will the groups talk about?
We’ll explore a few basic points from our approach at Uplift Kids, including inner compass, polarities, and strengths. Kids will leave the day camp with a few timeless practices and skills that they can weave into life at home and life with friends. Parents will have the chance to talk about parenting with other parents.
We’ll also have time for families to be together, talking about timeless values.
What has been the response from participants at prior camps?
The biggest testament to how much people love camp is how many families immediately sign up again.
Here is some of what participants have said about the experience:
- “My kids still talk about family camp at least once a week, more than six months later. They loved it so much!” — Lindsey (parent)
- “The first thing my kids said when they got in the car to head home was, ‘Can we do this again next year?’” — Elizabeth (parent)
- “It was a wonderful stay, and one of the best weeks of summer.” — Rowan (teen)
- “Amanda is an amazing leader and you guys did an amazing job putting this event together. I want to do this every year!” — Quinn (kid)
- “It was a beautiful, safe, fun, spiritual, and heart/mind opening experience.” — Vance (parent)
- “Next time I will come for 10 days.” — Daisy (kid)
