“If you follow your bliss, the life you ought to be living is the one you are living."
— Joseph Campbell, professor of literature and myth

Today’s Excerpt:

As you explore the world, you can pay attention to what gives you joy. Noticing this can help guide you to a purpose.

Reflect:

  • What activities seem difficult or even boring to other people but feel like play to you?
  • Is there anything you really want to learn about or explore but haven’t started yet?
  • What seems foolish to others but gives you enjoyment?

Here are some words from Buddha about living in joy.

Live in joy, in love,
Even among those who hate.

Live in joy, in health.
Even among the afflicted.

Live in joy, in peace,
Even among the troubled.

Look within. Be still.
Free from fear and attachment,
Know the sweet joy of the way.

—The Buddha, from the Dhammapada, Thomas Byrom, translator
