“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Letter to the Galatians (Christianity)

Today’s Excerpt:

Read this story from a member of the Uplift team: “My grandpa was really sick for three years. He had a hard time sleeping and would get uncomfortable at night. Every night my grandma would wake up two or three times a night to help him adjust in his bed to make him more comfortable. She told me she was always really tired and a lot of times she didn’t want to do it, but she did it anyway because she loved him. She knew no one else was there to do it and she wanted him to be comfortable.”

  • Can you think of a time you wanted to give up but didn’t?

Optional related activities:

  • Call a grandparent and ask them if they can think of any stories where they used grit when facing something difficult.
  • Invite each person to think of a story from their own life where they have used grit. Record their story.
  • Think of something in your family life that requires grit. Set a goal and discuss as a family how to apply grit to see it through.
