“You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.”
— A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Today’s Excerpt:

Is there someone you want to be better friends with?

To practice more with making and keeping friendships, consider what you might do in each of the following situations.

  • There’s a new kid in one of your classes you’ve never met before. How do you introduce yourself and start a conversation?
  • You are at the playground and want to play a game of tag with other kids you don’t know yet. What do you say to join them to play?
  • You have friends at school that you regularly hang out with, but there is another student you want to get to know that isn’t part of your regular group. What could you say or do to keep the friendships you have and also make room for a new friend?
