Write down — or think of — a situation or a person on a piece of paper you feel ready to forgive and let go of hurt feelings.
Take a few minutes of silence or quiet music to consider the question if needed.
If you want to, share with someone you trust what you plan to do to forgive. If you just need to let go of hard feelings, you can rip up your paper as a way of showing you they are letting the situation go.
Forgiveness can take time and you might need many opportunities to forgive, but just wanting to forgive is an important step.
