“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
– Sylvia Plath
Today’s Excerpt:
When do you doubt your ability to be creative?
When you aren’t feeling a creative spark, try one of these activities you feel drawn to and see if you get inspired:
- Make a collage with old magazines, ads, or pictures
- Act out your favorite story
- Building with blocks or Legos
- Gather natural materials like leaves, flowers, or pebbles to make art
- Put on a puppet show using socks, paper bags, or craft sticks.
- Create with Playdough or clay
- Play dress-up with clothes, accessories, and items you typically wouldn’t wear
- Dance it out!
- Make a scavenger hunt with clues around the house or yard
- Use recyclable materials or “junk” like cardboard boxes, bottle caps, and paper rolls to create something
- Transform old socks into puppets and put on a show
- Use a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other food items to make edible art sculptures and then have a snack
